The 2017 Highland Ridge Highlander

Considering a toy hauler for your next travel trailer? Perhaps the most appealing thing about a toy hauler is the area of the trailer that the class gets its name from: the garage. Not only can you use this as a place to put your toys, like ATVs, bikes, or kayaks, but it can also be used as a flex-space, providing extra sleeping room, living room, or even as a covered eating area if you want to get that patio vibe.

2014 Fleetwood Excursion 35B

Are you starting to spend more time in your RV, or even thinking about moving into your RV full time? When you move to a full-time RV lifestyle, it’s likely you’ll want a vehicle with a few more frills and conveniences than your old standby. Here at Jim’s — your New York RV Center– we’re featuring the brand new 2014 Fleetwood Excursion 35B as the perfect vehicle to help you make the transition into life on the road.

The 35B Floorplan

One of the greatest features of the Excursion 35B is how the floorplan is designed to feel much more like a home than an RV. Behind the driver and passenger seats, you’ll find a huge L-shaped couch, a comfortable recliner and an entertainment center.

And unlike most RVs that feature a dinette area and galley kitchen, the 35B is actually home to a full-size kitchen with bar stools at the counter. A pull-out table and chairs are also available if you need any extra space.

You’ll love how the full bathroom separates the spacious bedroom from the rest of the RV — providing that extra bit of privacy for times you travel with guests. A huge perk of the 35B we have here at Jim’s RV Center is that it comes with a convenient washer/dryer in the bedroom ward.

Jim’s RV Center

2014 Fleetwood Storm 32H

It’s getting closer to Spring, which means it’s time to make your RV dream come true. Part of the fun of buying an RV is looking at all of the floor plans to find the perfect RV. If you are in the market for something that sleeps at least six or eight people, consider test driving the 2014 Fleetwood Storm 32H.

Sleeping Quarters

The Storm 32H, available at Jim’s RV, sleeps eight people as it’s a bunkhouse model. The 42-inch by 70-inch dinette — located behind the driver’s seat — folds down into a bed. Directly across from the dinette and behind the passenger’s seat, is a 42-inch by 74-inch sofa bed. Both fold-downs sleep two people. The bunk beds are 33 inches by 73 inches – each bunk sleeps one. Alternatively, you can order the Storm 32H with another folding dinette under the upper bunk.

The rear bedroom features a 60-inch by 74-inch queen bed, two nightstands, a wardrobe over the top of a dresser and plenty of room to move around.

Living Area

The lavatory is all in one room and features a stand-up shower, toilet and sink. The galley area features a three-burner stove, microwave, refrigerator and a double sink. A 32-inch LCD television is included over the cab area.

The Storm 32H is built on a Ford chassis that features a 6.8-liter Triton V-10 engine which is backed by a five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The engine puts out 362 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque at 3,250 rpm. It holds 80 gallons of fuel.

Dimensions and Quantities

The 2014 Fleetwood Storm is 31 feet long. You can choose from several options, including an extra queen bed, entertainment center and televisions for the bunks and rear bedroom. Ask your Jim’s RV salesperson about additional options and information about each option.

The interior height is 82 inches and the exterior height is 12 feet including the air conditioning unity. The Storm 32H features plenty of storage: 116 cubic feet inside and 104 cubic feet outside. The fresh water tank holds 60 gallons, and the gray and black water tanks each hold 35 gallons. The RV holds 14 gallons of propane and features a 6-gallon hot water tank.

Stop by Jim’ RV today to tour the Storm 32H and take it for a test drive. This RV is large enough for a larger family, but not so long that it’s difficult to drive.

The 2012 Travel Lite 690FD

So you drive onto the lot at Jim’s RV and they show you a few trailers and RVs, but nothing is catching your fancy. It’s not that these aren’t great motorhomes, they’re just… a little much for your purposes. If you’re a solo traveler or if it’s just you and the spouse and you don’t mind getting cozy, then you might want to consider a truck camper.

The 2012 Travel Lite 690FD is certainly a cozy little model, but at under $11,000, it’s more than enough for anyone who just wants to get on the road right now and start traveling.

A truck camper isn’t for everyone. These cozy little campers are very comfortable for anyone who just needs a place to sleep and eat, but the lack of a built-in bathroom means that it’s more for camping and traveling than for living in permanently as an RVer.

That said, if you’re after something along those lines, you can’t go wrong with Travel Lite. It fits into most mid-size trucks, including the Ford Ranger. With the Travel Lite you get a surprisingly well-equipped kitchen area with two burners and a fridge bigger than you’ll find in most hotel rooms. The bed is spacious enough for one or for a couple, there’s a microwave, and the skylight really opens up the place.

If you have a family to travel with, if you’re looking for a fulltime RV, go ahead and invest in a good, full-size RV, fifth wheel or travel trailer. If you’re looking for something for short term adventures or just doing some traveling on your own and would rather not break your neck sleeping in your car between motels, then the Travel Lite camper is one of the most comfortable little campers on the market right now. Come see us at Jim’s RV today!
