Celebration Tips for Halloween on the Road

Traveling in your RV doesn’t mean you have to miss out on your favorite holiday celebrations. In fact, it’s just as easy to celebrate holidays in your RV as it is at home. These simple celebration tips will help you make the most of Halloween at the campsite this year.

Decorate Your RV

There’s no better way to get in the Halloween spirit than to decorate your RV. Stop by a local farmers’ market near your destination to pick up local pumpkins, gourds and other festive items. Natural items from the farmers’ market can double as Thanksgiving decorations and are easy to dispose of after the holidays. Carving the pumpkins you purchase is another way to get your entire family in the holiday spirit while creating homemade Halloween decorations.

Trick-or-Treat at the Campground

Many campgrounds and RV parks provide Halloween festivities and trick-or-treating times for their visitors. Take your kids door-to-door throughout the park to decorated RVs to trick-or-treat just like you would at home. Campground attendants can also direct you to nearby neighborhoods that are safe for trick-or-treating.

If your campground doesn’t offer trick-or-treating, arrange a scavenger hunt throughout the park for your little campers. Guide them to bowls of candy with clues, and they’ll enjoy it even more than traditional trick-or-treating.

Plan a Halloween Party

You don’t have to have a brick-and-mortar home to throw an RV celebration. Plan a celebration at your campsite and ask your fellow campers to bring a dish. Use campground common areas or outdoor picnic tables to keep the interior of your RV clean, while entertaining as many campers as you please.
