Whether you live in New York or are visiting New York, there are some things you just shouldn’t miss, including the many festivals held during the fall months. If you’re from the area, pack up the RV and head out to make a weekend or a week of some of the festivals – and if you’re not from the area, you already have your RV packed up.

Stop by Jim’s RV Center in Nichols, New York to grab any accessories you might need for your trip – or if you don’t have an RV yet, now is a great time to buy one and head out on the road.

Hunter Oktoberfest

The Hunter Oktoberfest is held in Hunter in the Catskills from September 27, 2014 through October 19, 2014. Set your GPS to Rte 23A, Hunter, NY 12442 and enjoy the festivities. The venue is open from 11:00 a.m. until 6:15 p.m. rain or shine and admission is free. Enjoy authentic German and German-American entertainment, food, crafts and beer until October 19, 2014.

The Oyster Festival

This festival is held in Oyster Bay on Long Island from October 18, 2014 through October 19, 2014. The Oyster Festival is the east coast’s largest waterfront festival; and it offers tons of activities – new and old favorites – and is designed to entertain the entire family. Admission is free and hours are from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily. Head out to West End Avenue in Oyster Bay, New York, 11771 to catch the festivities.

Wine and Brew Festival at Hunter Mountain

If you are in the mood for a trip to the mountains, visit Hunter in the Catskills for the Wine and Brew Festival from October 18, 2014 through October 19, 2014. Set your GPS for Rte. 23A in Hunter, New York, 12442 and sample microbrews and fine wines from the Hudson Valley. Admission is free, however, there is a charge to take place in the sampling. In addition to tasting, the Skyride is open and zipline tours are available. You’ll also see many vendors with specialty foods, arts, crafts, entertainment, and a farmers’ market.

Make your plans for these fall festivals, and before you head out be sure to have your RV serviced at Jim’s RV Center. Or, stop by to pick up any accessories you may need if you are not from the area.
